Where You’ll Work

CHI Health Good Samaritan is a 236-bed, Level II Trauma Center and regional referral hub serving central and western Nebraska. As a tertiary care facility, Good Samaritan offers a broad range of specialty services and a highly collaborative medical staff dedicated to delivering exceptional patient-centered care.  The hospital features a 24-bed open ICU with intensivist support, a strong hospitalist program and engaged subspecialists across cardiology, thoracic and vascular surgery, orthopedics, neurosurgery, and women’s services. Hospital-based medical transport services at Good Samaritan include AirCare–the state’s longest operating air medical provider, as well as ground 911 and long-distance ambulance services. Physicians benefit from advanced surgical capabilities, interventional cardiology, comprehensive diagnostic and imaging services, and a team-based culture that promotes clinical excellence and collegiality.

Through its academic partnerships with Creighton University School of Medicine and the University of Nebraska Medical Center, providers have opportunities to engage in medical education and teaching. In addition, the upcoming UNMC Rural Health Education Building on the campus of University of Nebraska at Kearney further strengthens Kearney’s role as a growing hub for rural medical education and training — offering physicians meaningful academic involvement while practicing in a community-based setting.

Good Samaritan continues to invest in technology, service line growth, and provider engagement — creating an environment where physicians can practice at the top of their license while enjoying long-term professional satisfaction.

Community: Practice in a community of 34,000+, known for its safety, strong economy, and exceptional quality of life for all ages alike.  Kearney serves as a regional medical, educational, and retail hub for central Nebraska.  Home to University of Nebraska at Kearney, the community offers Division II athletics, cultural events, and a dynamic energy that enhances the local lifestyle.
