Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Orthopedic Trauma Advanced Practitioner, you will be a vital contributor to our Phoenix, Arizona-based healthcare team, delivering specialized acute orthopedic care for patients with diverse conditions. This Per Diem Orthopedic NP/PA role focuses on expert inpatient surgical management, encompassing comprehensive preoperative, perioperative, and postoperative care. Your expertise will be crucial in trauma care coordination and ensuring optimal patient outcomes within a fast-paced environment.

 

Every day you will actively participate in a rotating 24-hour first call schedule for the Orthopedic service, expertly first-assisting in orthopedic surgeries, and conducting thorough inpatient rounds. You will be instrumental in interdisciplinary care coordination with our Medical and Trauma teams, providing critical ER consultations, accurate diagnoses, and developing appropriate treatment plans. Your responsibilities will further include ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests and prescribing necessary medications and physical therapy.

 

To be successful in this role, you will possess exceptional clinical skills in orthopedic trauma, a strong commitment to patient-centered care, and the ability to thrive in a multidisciplinary team environment. Your proactive engagement in quality assurance and quality improvement initiatives will be highly valued, ensuring the delivery of the highest standards of care. We are seeking a Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) with a passion for acute care and a proven track record in surgical support within the orthopedic specialty.

Job Requirements

Required

 

PA 

  • Degree as a Physician Assistant (PA-C)
  • Active or eligible license in the state of Arizona
  • Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant program
  • Must hold and maintain: a.) AZ Regulatory Board of Physician Assistants License, b.) NCCPA - National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistant
  • Valid DEA registration.
  • Must meet credentialing criteria for medical staff.
  • 3+ years Trauma experience.

 

NP

  • Master's Degree in Nursing (MSN)
  • Graduate of accredited program for Nurse Practitioners
  • Active or eligible license in the state of Arizona
  • Compact state or Arizona RN license
  • Must hold and maintain National Certificate as a nurse practitioner in area of specialty under AZ regulations: a.) NP-AACN, b.)  NP-AANP,  c.)  NP-ANCC
  • Valid DEA registration
  • RNFA
  • 3+ years Trauma experience.
  • Must meet credentialing criteria for medical staff
