Job Summary and Responsibilities

CHI St. Vincent Convenient Care in Hot Springs is looking for a dedicated and energetic Urgent Care Nurse Practitioner to join our team! If you're passionate about providing high-quality, accessible healthcare to our community, we encourage you to apply. As an Urgent Care Nurse Practitioner, you will play a vital role in delivering comprehensive and efficient care to patients of all ages presenting with acute illnesses and injuries. You will utilize your clinical expertise to diagnose, treat, and manage a wide range of common medical conditions in an outpatient setting.

 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Conducting comprehensive patient assessments, including history taking, physical examinations, and ordering appropriate diagnostic tests (e.g., labs, X-rays).
  • Formulating accurate diagnoses and developing individualized treatment plans based on evidence-based practice.
  • Prescribing medications and other therapeutic interventions as needed, adhering to all regulatory guidelines.
  • Performing minor procedures such as suturing, incision and drainage, and wound care.
  • Providing patient education and counseling on health maintenance, disease prevention, and treatment plans.
  • Collaborating effectively with physicians, medical assistants, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated care.
  • Maintaining accurate and thorough electronic medical records.
  • Managing a diverse patient population with various urgent medical needs.
  • Referring patients to specialists or higher levels of care when appropriate.
  • Adhering to all CHI St. Vincent policies, procedures, and ethical standards.
  • Participating in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and clinic efficiency.

Schedule:

  • This position follows a 7-day rotation working every other weekend.

Job Requirements

  • Current and unrestricted Arkansas Advanced Practice Registered Nurse license.
  • National Certification as a Nurse Practitioner (Adult-Gerontology Primary Care NP, Family NP, or Adult NP) from an accredited certifying body (e.g., ANCC, AANP).
  • Master's or Doctorate in Nursing from an accredited NP program.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Nurse Practitioner in an Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, or Urgent Care setting preferred but not required.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within a team.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and patient education skills.
  • Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Proficiency in electronic health record systems.
  • Commitment to providing compassionate, evidence-based care.
