Job Summary and Responsibilities

CHI St. Vincent Primary Care - Village East is looking for a dedicated and energetic Family Medicine Nurse Practitioner to join our team in Hot Springs! If you're passionate about building lasting relationships with patients and providing comprehensive, continuous healthcare, we encourage you to apply. As a Family Medicine Nurse Practitioner, you will be an integral part of our primary care team, providing holistic healthcare services to individuals and families across the lifespan. You will focus on preventive care, health maintenance, and the management of acute and chronic conditions in a supportive outpatient clinic environment.

 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Conducting comprehensive health assessments, including medical history, physical examinations, and ordering appropriate diagnostic tests (e.g., labs, imaging).
  • Diagnosing and treating common acute illnesses and injuries, such as colds, flu, infections, and minor trauma.
  • Managing chronic diseases, including diabetes, hypertension, asthma, and hyperlipidemia, through medication management, lifestyle counseling, and ongoing monitoring.
  • Providing preventive care services, including routine physicals, immunizations, health screenings, and wellness counseling.
  • Developing and implementing individualized care plans in collaboration with patients and their families.
  • Prescribing medications and other therapeutic interventions in accordance with state regulations and clinic protocols.
  • Offering patient education on health promotion, disease prevention, and self-management strategies.
  • Performing minor in-office procedures (e.g., ear lavage, simple wound care, suture removal).
  • Collaborating effectively with physicians, medical assistants, and other healthcare professionals to ensure integrated patient care.
  • Maintaining accurate and thorough electronic medical records.
  • Referring patients to specialists or other healthcare resources when necessary.
  • Adhering to all CHI St. Vincent policies, procedures, and ethical standards.
  • Participating in continuous quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and clinic efficiency.

Schedule:

  • Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM.

Practice Details:

  • The practice currently consists of 2 Advanced Practice Providers and 1 physician.

Job Requirements

  • Current and unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license in the state of Arkansas.
  • Board Certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP).
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Nurse Practitioner, preferably in a family medicine or primary care setting preferred but not required.
  • Current BLS certification.
  • Strong diagnostic and clinical decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and patient education abilities.
  • Ability to build rapport with patients and foster long-term relationships.
  • Proficiency in electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
