CommonSpirit Health is seeking an exceptional Physician Assistant to join a high-volume, hospital-employed Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery program. This is a unique opportunity to work within a growing, system-supported microsurgery practice focused on complex oncologic and reconstructive care.

The ideal candidate is driven, technically skilled, and thrives in a fast-paced, high-acuity surgical environment. You will play an integral role across the full continuum of care—partnering closely with the surgeon in building a premier reconstructive program.

Core Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive care across inpatient, outpatient, and perioperative settings
• First assist in the operating room for advanced reconstructive and microsurgical procedures
• Conduct preoperative evaluations and postoperative management, including complex wound care and flap monitoring
• Manage inpatient rounding, consults, and care coordination
• Perform bedside and clinic-based procedures within scope
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including oncology, breast surgery, vascular, and trauma services
• Maintain high-quality documentation within the EMR (EPIC)

Clinical Focus

• Autologous breast reconstruction (DIEP and free flap procedures)
• Lymphedema surgery and longitudinal management
• Extremity and trauma reconstruction
• Microsurgery and complex wound care

Ideal Candidate

• Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program; NCCPA certified
• Eligible for or active Colorado licensure
• Prior surgical experience preferred; plastic surgery or high-acuity surgical subspecialty strongly preferred
• Demonstrated ability to perform in high-volume, high-complexity environments
• Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and commitment to excellence in patient care
• Interest in developing advanced operative and perioperative skills within a microsurgical progra

Must Possess the following:

• BA Certification by N.C.C.P.A. and current mid-level provider license by the state of Colorado required
• BLS from the American Heart Association required
• ACLS from the American Heart Association may be required
• Physical Requirements - Medium Work - (Exert up to 50lbs force occasionally, and/or up to 20lbs frequently, and/or up to 10lbs constantly)
