Dignity Health Medical Group is the employed provider group of Dignity Health Arizona. Dignity Health Medical Group (DHMG) employs approximately 350 providers and 850 support staff who cover a wide variety of specialties. The medical group has had tremendous success over the past few years and now provides more than 73 sub-specialty services. The physicians and APPs provide clinical services in their areas of specialty and many serve in pivotal academic research and leadership roles.  DHMG is also heavily involved in preparing tomorrow's healthcare providers. Clinical services are complemented with translational and bench research to augment medical education for residents and students. Job Summary and Responsibilities

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Colorectal Surgeon to join our team in Phoenix, Arizona. You will play a crucial role in providing comprehensive and high-quality care to patients with surgery needs.

 

Opportunity Highlights:

  • This service line is expanding.
  • Practice Description: Multi-specialty clinic, this colorectal surgeon also supports Dignity Health Cancer Institute.
  • Case mix/patient population: Varies
  • Patients: 17+
  • Outpatient: Average 60th-70th %ile combined productivity.
  • Consults: Varies based on call
  • Typical week: 50 hours per week on average. 10 half days of clinic per month, 4 half days of endoscopy per month, Robot and open block time in addition to first come first serve OR availability. 50% hospital based practice. 
  • Procedures: Office based procedures: hemorroidectomy, anoscopy. Hospital based procedures: benign and malignant colon and rectal resections. IBD operations. Complex pelvic tumors in our multidiciplicanry CAPS program (Complex abdominopelvic surgery)
  • Call: Every other week call shared with additional colorectal surgeon covering already established practice patients as well as new consultations and transfer from our large catchment area. 
  • Additional practice details: Multi-specialty clinic including General Surgery, Endocrine Surgery, Trauma team, Dignity Health Hernia Institute, clinic APP to help with post op/urgent established visits, Centralized Scheduling, Direct to colonoscopy program.

Job Requirements

  • MD or DO Degree
  • ACGME Residency training
  • Fellowship in Colorectal Surgery
  • ABMS Board Eligible of Certified
  • Valid State license or eligible to obtain one
