Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Orthopedic Trauma Advanced Practitioner, you will be a pivotal asset in acute care patient management, delivering comprehensive orthopedic support in a dynamic Phoenix, Arizona environment. Focused on trauma surgery, you'll leverage your expertise as either a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to ensure optimal patient outcomes. This role is perfect for a highly motivated healthcare professional seeking an impactful position within an orthopedic surgical team.

 

Every day you will drive inpatient orthopedic care, spanning preoperative, perioperative, and postoperative phases. You will provide critical first assist support in the operating room and manage 24-hour first call rotations amongst your peer PAs, ensuring rapid response for orthopedic emergencies. Your responsibilities will also include interdisciplinary rounding with medical and trauma teams, ER patient consultations for accurate diagnosis and referrals, and the interpretation of diagnostic tests to guide patient care plans.

 

To be successful in this role, you will possess a strong foundation in orthopedic trauma, demonstrating proficiency in medication administration, physical therapy prescriptions, and actively participating in quality assurance and improvement initiatives. Your ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team and provide patient-centered care will be essential. We are seeking a dedicated professional seeking to excel in a challenging yet rewarding orthopedic advanced practice position.

Job Requirements

Required

 

PA

  • Degree as a Physician Assistant (PA-C)
  • Active or eligible license in the state of Arizona
  • Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant program
  • Must hold and maintain: a.) AZ Regulatory Board of Physician Assistants License, b.) NCCPA - National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistant
  • Valid DEA registration
  • Must meet credentialing criteria for medical staff.
  • 3+ years Trauma experience is a MUST. 

 

NP

  • Master's Degree in Nursing (MSN)
  • Active or eligible license in the state of Arizona
  • Graduate of accredited program for Nurse Practitioners
  • Compact state or Arizona RN license
  • Must hold and maintain National Certificate as a nurse practitioner in area of specialty under AZ regulations: a.) NP-AACN, b.)  NP-AANP,  c.)  NP-ANCC
  • Valid DEA registration
  • RNFA
  • 3+ years Trauma experience.
  • Must meet credentialing criteria for medical staff
