Job Summary and Responsibilities

Mercy Medical Group (MMG), a multi-specialty group in the Sacramento region, is looking to add a Physician Assistant provider to its busy Urology department. MMG clinicians provide services to patients at Dignity Health Medical Foundation’s Mercy Medical Group locations throughout Sacramento.

 

This position involves outpatient clinic responsibilities. These duties will include new patient consults and returning office visits, patient education, and responding to patient inquiries for a wide variety of urologic problems. Additional duties of hospital rounds for post-op care may be included periodically.

 

The work schedule is Monday through Friday with no nights/ no call responsibilities. 

 

 

Opportunity Highlights

  • Helps with rounding, postop care in the hospital and clinic, and seeing some non-operative referrals 
  • Provides patient care within the scope of practice
  • Obtains medical history, performs physical examinations, formulates differential diagnoses, and establishes treatment plans in collaboration with the treating physician
  • Writes orders and prescribes medications, including controlled substances.
  • Instructs and counsels patients and their families regarding diagnoses and treatment plans
  • Completes all hospital and department documentation accurately and within designated timeframes.
  • Acts as a liaison between physicians, nursing departments, and ancillary staff on behalf of patients and their families.
  • Complies with all legal restrictions regarding lines of authority, supervision, and communication.

  • Competitive Compensation:$138,034 - $182,231 +bonus DOE

Job Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program
  • Current and unrestricted California NP or PA license
  • National certification (AANP, ANCC, or NCCPA)
