Job Summary and Responsibilities

Mercy Medical Group (MMG), a multi-specialty group in the Sacramento region, is looking to add a Physician Assistant to our Neurosurgery team in Carmichael, CA.  This position is primarily clinical with some surgical responsibilities. Clinical duties include post-op office visits and responding to patient inquiries. In the hospital setting, this role involves rounding and serving as a surgical first assistant. The work schedule is Monday through Friday with no call responsibilities and no weekends.

 

Opportunity Highlights

  • Helps with rounding, postop care in the hospital and clinic, and seeing some non-operative referrals 
  • Some surgical assisting, approximately 3-4 times per month 
  • Provides patient care within the scope of practice
  • Obtains medical history, performs physical examinations, formulates differential diagnoses, and establishes treatment plans in collaboration with the treating physician
  • Writes orders and prescribes medications, including controlled substances.
  • Instructs and counsels patients and their families regarding diagnoses and treatment plans
  • Completes all hospital and department documentation accurately and within designated timeframes.
  • Acts as a liaison between physicians, nursing departments, and ancillary staff on behalf of patients and their families.
  • Complies with all legal restrictions regarding lines of authority, supervision, and communication.

 

Compensation and Benefits

  • Competitive Compensation: $141,158 -$187,358 DOE + productivity bonus

Job Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program
  • Current and unrestricted California PA license
  • National certification (NCCPA)
  • BLS and ACLS 
  • DEA license
