Mercy Hospital is an 82-bed, acute care hospital located in the scenic southwestern Colorado town of Durango. It is the only hospital in Colorado to be rated by Medicare with five stars for overall hospital quality. The hospital is recognized for excellence in orthopedic and spine surgery and for outstanding patient experience and patient safety. • Be responsible for comprehensive patient care to assure that the health care needs of patients are being met, including attendance at Interdisciplinary or nursing rounds and daily communication with the team caring for the patient.
• Renders quality medical services according to qualifications as an internal medicine or family practice physician with appropriate referrals, follow-up and hospitalization. 
• The Hospitalist supports hospital medical staff and other area physicians utilizing the Hospitalist service by overseeing the inpatient experience, including providing follow-up care for patients in the outpatient realm.
• Communicates health status and treatment plan to patient, family and hospital staff.
• The Hospitalist documents information completely for patient care and billing purposes, and assists in the review of work flow, office practices and objectives; and teaches medical students, residents and others in graduate health education programs.

We are offering a competitive base salary guaranteed for up to three years, a generous CME allowance, and up to $200,000 in recruiting incentives, which include a sign-on bonus, student loan assistance, a residency bonus, and relocation assistance for new hires who meet the eligibility requirements. Required

• Doctorate of Medicine required
• Current Physician License in the state of Colorado required
• Current BLS and ACLS from the American Heart Association required
• Other certifications may be required depending on practice setting or credentialing requirements
