Job Summary and Responsibilities

As a Pediatric Hospitalist, you will join Dignity Health Medical Group - Dominican, a premier multi-specialty group in Santa Cruz County, playing a pivotal role in the acute care of our pediatric patients at Dominican Hospital in Santa Cruz, CA.

You will provide comprehensive inpatient pediatric care, utilizing our state-of-the-art facilities, including a Level 3 NICU with dedicated onsite Neonatologist support. This role offers the unique opportunity to lead the management of hospitalized children while working in a collaborative environment. While the primary focus is inpatient medicine, you have the elective option to supplement your practice with outpatient clinic shifts, providing flexibility to match your clinical interests.

  • Provide high-quality inpatient pediatric care, including attending deliveries, managing acute admissions, and performing daily rounds.
  • Participate in a 1:7 call rotation, ensuring continuous support for our pediatric inpatient population.
  • Optional: Opportunity to incorporate outpatient clinic shifts into your schedule to maintain a broader scope of practice (not required).
  • Collaborate closely with the NICU team, pediatric subspecialists, and nursing staff to optimize patient outcomes and hospital throughput.
  • Develop and manage evidence-based care plans for acutely ill infants, children, and adolescents.
  • Serve as a resource and mentor for advanced practice providers and future residents.

We are offering the following incentives to eligible new hires:

  • Guaranteed Annual Salary: $275,000 - $285,000 (DOE)

Job Requirements

Required:

  • Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution
  • Board-certified or board-eligible in Pediatrics
  • Active or eligible license in the state of California
  • Clinical expertise in acute/inpatient pediatric management
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively navigate complex inpatient scenarios and support families
  • Spanish proficiency is a plus
