Job Summary and Responsibilities

As a Per Diem CRNA with Virginia Mason Franciscan Health, you will join our talented Anesthesiology Department at VMFH’s downtown Tacoma location, St. Joseph Medical Center. Along with providing anesthesia to our patient population and supporting surgical and procedural caseload, this exciting new position offers engaged individuals the unique opportunity to influence and guide the future of anesthesiology at this facility. In addition to providing exceptional anesthesia care, you can play an integral role in establishing the CRNA presence at St. Joseph and helping to define the evolution of the Anesthesiology Department. For a motivated CRNA who values collaboration, team-building, and the opportunity to make a lasting impact, this role offers the chance to build something new. In turn, we commit to providing a respectful, high-quality work environment and bringing together colleagues who look out for each other in addition to providing outstanding anesthesia care.

Every day, you would be responsible for providing high-quality, expert, compassionate patient care at St. Joseph Medical Center.

St. Joseph is a 385 bed, Level II Trauma, non-profit tertiary care medical center located in Tacoma, Washington, part of Virginia Mason Franciscan Health and the larger CommonSpirit Health Organization. The hospital is home to multiple ACGME programs and their related research activities. The Anesthesiology Department provides 24/7 support to hospital operations with a highly-collaborative team of clinicians and a dedicated Anesthesia Practice and Operations Manager, along with an integrated perioperative staff. St. Joseph’s strong community connection, supportive administration, and dedication to excellence has resulted in numerous accolades, including grades of LeapFrog ‘A’ and CMS ‘4-star,’ and recognition as a Top 10 Regionally Ranked hospital per US News.

To be successful in this role, you would provide safe anesthetic experiences for our patients in a collaborative, team-based Anesthesia Care Team model. You would demonstrate exceptional expertise in anesthesia while ensuring adherence to facility standards, achieving optimal patient outcomes, and supporting efficient clinical operations. This organization has a deep commitment to fostering an equitable, diverse and intentionally inclusive environment, and you would help promote teamwork with physicians and staff members in the Operating Room, Labor & Delivery, Procedural areas, and other departments across the hospital.
