Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Body Radiologist at Virginia Mason Medical Center in Seattle, you will join a prestigious, patient-centered team dedicated to clinical innovation. You will play a key role as an educator and mentor in our top-tier residency program while leveraging your expertise to interpret studies across additional modalities—with a preference for ultrasound—to ensure comprehensive diagnostic care.


Every day you will provide comprehensive body imaging services. Your daily routine will involve active collaboration with our multidisciplinary team of surgeons, oncologists, and referring physicians, providing expert consultations that directly impact patient outcomes. You will participate in tumor boards and clinical conferences to ensure that every patient receives a definitive, evidence-based diagnosis. Utilizing the Virginia Mason Production System, you will actively contribute to continuous quality improvement and patient safety initiatives, while maintaining the high standards of care for which our medical center is known.


To succeed in this role, you must be board-certified or board-eligible and must have completed a fellowship in Body or Ultrasound Imaging . We are seeking a versatile radiologist with broad proficiency in CT, MRI, and Ultrasound to integrate seamlessly into our clinical workflow. The ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional communication skills, an unwavering commitment to patient-centered care, and a passion for resident education and clinical mentorship. 

  • Full time (0.8 - 1.0 FTE) position, based at Virginia Mason Medical Center in Seattle, WA
  • No overnight in-house call requirement, occasional weekend call.
  • Potential for remote work one day per week depending on additional skill sets.

Job Requirements

  • Interpret studies in one or more additional modalities based on individual training and preference. Ultrasound preferred.
  • Clinical education and mentorship of diagnostic radiology residents
  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited institution
  • Board certification or board eligible in Diagnostic Radiology from the American Board of Radiology.
  • Body or Ultrasound Imaging fellowship completed at an ACGME accredited facility
  • Active Washington State medical license, or eligible for licensure
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients and healthcare professionals.
