Job Summary and Responsibilities

Longmont United Hospital is seeking a board-certified Neurosurgeon to join our thriving, hospital-affiliated neurosurgery practice. This is a unique opportunity for a surgeon to partner with a highly respected, experienced neurosurgeon who has cultivated a robust patient base and deep referral networks within the Boulder County area. As our practice continues to grow, we are looking for a dedicated clinician committed to clinical excellence, patient-centered care, and collaborative partnership. 

To be successful in this role, you must commit to quality care, compliance, continuous learning, and active participation in hospital goals, including community benefit services and maintaining compensation model targets.

 

  • Dedicated practice call only. No ED trauma call requirements.
  • Provides highest quality patient care.
  • Provides ambulatory care in the Clinic as designated.
  • Services provided by the physician include seeing patients, preparing medical records, professional and administrative duties.
  • Updates and maintains medical records for all examinations, services, and other services in accordance with policy.
  • Physician participates and complies with the requirements of sponsoring entities ethical and religious directives (ERD), Medicare,
  • Medicaid, or other federal and state reimbursement plans.
  • Physicians will participate and lead in various activities and initiatives that will promote clinical and quality improvement for services provided.
  • Complies at all times with Hospital's policies and procedures; financial reviews, utilization review/quality management, compliance and integrity program; compliance and citizenship policies and the Medical Staff Bylaws, Rules, and Regulations.
  • Keeps abreast of the latest developments in the field, both academically and through applied skill.
  • Development of personal and professional knowledge and competence through continuing medical education including maintaining applicable board certification.

 

Job Requirements

Required

  • Doctorate in Medicine (MD) or Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited medical school.
  • Residency/Fellowship: Graduation from an accredited American Board of Neurological Surgery (ABNS) residency program.
  • Board-certified or eligible in neurological surgery.
  • Active, unrestricted state medical license.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain an unrestricted Drug Enforcement Agency ("DEA") registration (if prescribing controlled substances).
  • Ability to obtain Medical Staff Privileges within the Health system, at sponsoring institutions.
  • Strong clinical expertise in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of adult diseases.
  • Exceptional critical thinking and diagnostic problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for patient education and inter-provider collaboration.

Preferred

  • Demonstrated experience in managing a diverse panel of adult patients with various chronic conditions.
  • Participation in quality improvement initiatives or patient safety programs.
