Job Summary and Responsibilities

As a Nurse Practitioner, Hospitalist, you will be responsible for utilizing training and skills to provide direct patient care under the supervision of a physician.

Every day, you will apply your advanced clinical expertise to assess, diagnose, and manage the care of hospitalized patients from admission through discharge. This involves conducting comprehensive physical exams, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, developing and implementing treatment plans, and collaborating closely with physicians and other members of the healthcare team to ensure seamless and high-quality inpatient care.

To be successful in your role, you will meticulously provide direct patient care, utilizing your specialized training and skills to assess, diagnose, and manage hospitalized patients under physician supervision. You will demonstrate exceptional clinical proficiency and a compassionate approach, ensuring comprehensive care coordination and optimal patient outcomes within your scope of practice.
  • Obtain medical histories when necessary.
  • Perform physical exams (within established protocol).
  • Diagnose, treat and monitor chronic diseases (within protocol guidelines). Order diagnostic test.
  • Prescribe or recommend medications for prescription for medications and treatment (within protocol guidelines). Provide preventive health screenings and immunizations for children and adults.
  • Promote positive lifestyle habits to all patients through education and counseling.
  • Assist the doctor with office surgeries. Assure charts are signed off by the doctor within 7 days.

Job Requirements

Required
  • Masters Of Science Nursing and 3-5 years clinical nursing practice in an acute care setting, upon hire and
  • 1-3 years previous experience as a NP in an acute or primary care setting or equivalent RN experience
  • Advanced Practitioner Registered Nurse: TN, upon hire and
  • Registered Nurse: TN, upon hire and
  • Basic Life Support - CPR, upon hire and
  • Nurse Practitioner - AANPCP, upon hire
